Logo for Frederick, MD based rapper/MC J Berd.
Berd came to me knowing that he wanted something sports inspired for his logo and that of course a bird would have to be involved somehow. I did a number of sketches of bird characters, basing some directly off of popular sports logos including the vintage Baltimore Orioles bird and vintage Toronto Blue Jays logo. We eventually settled on a character with a bit more edge and I used the collegiate styled font to bring home the sports influence.
